Very disapppointed: less room inside than wife's Honda Civic (last model) and I would never have another rear wheel drive car. Couldn't get it off the drive for 10 days last winter! It is also the most difficult car to clean I have ever had. The rims of the wheels are behind the spokes. It is also not practical enough: small boot and no folding seats. Plus points are fantastic economy (45 m.p.g. over 40000 miles) and the paintwork is superb. Has just been changed for Honda CRV.

Batteries seem to vary in how long they last. corrosion of the rear suspension made it necessary to replace it on both sides, the led display in the centre of the driver instruments has dimmed over time and is now hard to read in daylight. I have been pleasantly surprised by the mercedes response to competition in that they offer very competitive prices for run of the mill services and parts and as my car is over three years old it qualifies for their discounted spares scheme.

An excellent car. Great driver's car but comfortable and quiet too.
Mine is the sports version and looks much better than the SE version.
Digital radio, xenon lights, cruise control and selectable sport setting were good choices for add ons.
My local Mercedes dealer is excellent
Far less common than a BMW3 series!!

Next time I would like to go for E class for its comforts and looks. Definitely Merc on the drive gives the house a premium look. I dont think any other car even BMW can beat Merc for its image. Generally very reliable car if looked after very well, however the parts can be very expensive if needs changing.

Very good, first time I have had a 'proper' more luxury vehicle which might be why I am so happy with it.

It is a pleasure to drive and very comfortable, currently looking to buy a car for my wife though - safety is the key as we are expecting our first child in May - any bargains for me?????!!!!!!!

Y-reg Petrol, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Despite the moans about Mercedes, I feel that this car has lived up to my expectations, the rust issue was dealt with by Mercedes Direct with no problems about them paying, this was different to a franchised dealer. The car is comfortable and full of gadgets that work. Overall a great car.

52-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Good safe and practical car with a quality feel that is still good after over 100000 miles. Use the cruise control and stick to the speed limit on motorways and 50mpgis achievable. Returns of 42+ mpg over 8000 miles of varied driving conditions is good for a car of this size and quality.

Budget entry to the prestige car market. Low depreciation, enough character to amuse and loads of status because nobody knows much about Mercedes cars. Economical, cheap to run, comfy and that 'feel good' impression as you float down the motorway or bask in stationary traffic.

Absolutely amazing! I have owned 2 W203 C Classes in the past 3 years (first one went due to an accident). I would keep buying this car over and over. The C320cdi just seems to have everything, practicality, brand image, luxury comfort, performance, and economy! Brilliant!

07-reg Diesel, Owner for 1 to 3 years

Comfortable reliable car with plenty of pace when required. Excellent to take on long journeys. Folding rear seat should be standard as I did not specify as optional extra and now regret it. Sat Nav system good but needs upgrading already and that is exspensive!

Very smooth ride, good acceleration, and comfort. I don't like the £400 VEL every year. Will go for one with lower emmissions next time as they are improving all the time. May go for a diesel next time as the emmissions are lower

I have enjoyed my ownership of this car and find it very pleasant. The cost of ownership has decreased significantly in the past two years since I stopped using the dealership for maintenance and use a local specialist garage.

I have had the C220 CDi for 9 months now, and have found the car to be reliable and reasonably economic for the size of vehicle. The ride is slightly firmer than I prefer on B roads (I live in a rural area).

Get's me where I want to go safely, comfortably and reliably. Being a mercedes the spare parts can be a bit pricey at times but once fitted they do tend to last unlike a majority of pattern parts.

It is true what they say, Mercedes cars are not built like they used to be and they are not that comfotable on long journeys either. As for the servicing costs is £100 per hour reasonable?

Some electrical items starting to fail - door lock, fuel cap rlease, cabinalarm. Servicing seems to cost about 600 per year, I think this is too high.
