The clubman is a distinctive car, but to get the car to look right the choice of colour, wheels and exterior are very influential. Some tastefully specified clubmans look fantastic, while ones with smaller alloys and poor colours look porky. The diesel engine returns 55mpg when driven briskly which is great, however the engine falls well short of the claimed 69mpg on the motorway- I can't squeeze more than 63mpg. This is slighty dussapointing. The interior is very well built and the clubman is more practical than the standard bodied mini. And for those critics who bang on and on about the usefullness of the club door and rear doors- get a sense of fun! Mini was brave to produce a headturning, interesting and fresh car. Other manurfacturers should take not and start making cars that gets drivers hearts racing again. A solid, fun and greener alternative to other soul-less modern cars on the road.
