Meet the all-new Mitsubishi Colt! The Japanese firm has unveiled its exhibits at Geneva, and the star is the new Colt concept. Called the Mitsubishi Concept Global Small, the newcomer previews a car developed under three watchwords: "compact", "affordability", and "high fuel efficiency."

Although not called the Colt, Mitsubishi has confirmed that the Concept Global previews a new passenger vehicle that is planned for production in March of 2012 at Mitsubishi’s new factory in Thailand.

The firm claims that the car “achieves top-of-class fuel efficiency.” The concept theoretically emits carbon dioxide in the mid-90g/km range thanks to its downsized petrol engine, which features stop-start and is boosted by brake regeneration.

The engine is married to a new CVT gearbox. Elsewhere, Mitsubishi promises lightweight construction and a body shape that greatly reduces aerodynamic drag.

I know that Mitsu and Peugeot have an agreement.....but this is clearly Peugeots new design language as seen on the new 508??

More of a Mish Mash i20/ fiesta,no bad thing really as the old Colt was forgetable.

Its about time they updated the current colt, its getting on a bit, and looks rather outclassed next to the opposition.

Rright On

Nice to see a relacement smaller and lighter than it's predecessor, rather than the endemic size creep of the last generation. Nice simple lines too, with clean, minimalist detailing.

Not sure yet I have a colt Blue and its been brilliant made in Holland common parts with the old smart 4 four. This new car is all new but I need to see the interior and I would like to think its going to be manufactured in Holland
