SAAB has built itself a one-year anniversary present! But instead of the traditional paper gift, the firm has gone to town on a special version of the 9-3 Convertible.

Called the Independence Edition, the newcomer features a unique, Amber Orange metallic paint finish and 18-inch alloys. New leather seats, carbon-look trim and an orange-stitched leather steering wheel complete the tweaks.

One powertrain is available, the 180bhp 1.9-litre TTiD diesel engine, hooked up to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Just 366 examples will be produced, one for each day during the first year and one extra for the start of a second year. Only 80 of these vehicles will be produced for the UK.
