How cool is this? Bentley has unleashed its most powerful car ever, to celebrate setting a new 205mph ice speed record. And we got a close-up look at the record-setting car at the VW Group preview evening ahead of the show.
Sporting blanked-out headlights, grill and wheels for maximum aerodynamic efficiency at high-speed, plus a parachute at the back to slow it down, the convertible certainly stood out next to the other shiny show cars present on the night. But while the drastic aero changes aren't carried over to the production car, the extra power is.
The Continental Ice Speed Record features an uprated W12, developing 631bhp and 800Nm of torque thanks to upgrades to the air intakes, intercooler and exhaust system.
Based on the drop-top GTC Supersports, the ISR also features a Quickshift six-speed auto box, which means a 0-62mph sprint time of four seconds flat and a 202mph top speed.
Only 100 examples will be built, with buyers getting a choice of three paint finishes: Beluga, Quartzite and Arctica White. All models are equipped with a metallic grey fabric roof and dark-tinted 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the ISR features diamond-quilted Alcantara trim on the doors and seat facings, as well as ‘soft-grip’ leather on the steering wheel and gearlever. High-gloss carbon fibre on the dashboard and bright red trim has been added, as has an uprated sat-nav system.
