New Kia Cee'd

January 2012

Kia has released the first picture of its all-new Cee'd, ahead of the car's world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The new Cee'd gets the updated grille design as seen on the Optima, chrome detailing around the windows and a chunkier look.

It will be available as a three and five-door model, and an SW estate will be revealed later this year, possibly at the Paris Motor Show.

The new Cee'd will go on sale in the UK from spring, with first deliveries expected in June.

This announcement paves the way for a new hot hatch version, badged Pro_cee'd in early 2013.

The new Pro_cee'd will only be available as a three-door, but Kia is considering a new hybrid drivetrain for it, which would offer around 200bhp.

Kia had been tipped to unveil a coupe concept at the Detroit Motor Show, but its debut has been delayed. It is now slated to appear at the Chicago Motor Show in a month's time.

Styling anti-climax

After the Sportage, Optima and Rio I was expecting something much better looking than this, but they seem to have taken inspiration from the BMW 1 series instead.

Shame as I'm assuming the car itself will be quite good.

ceed or i30

i like both cars, i've had vag group cars for a few years now but i like the look of these two new cars. if the 1.7 134 bhp makes it into this it would be interesting. Well folks what would you take out of these two - diesel engined models ???..... i'm going off vag as their 1.6 d only musters 105 bhp
