Goodwood 2010 gallery

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is still a few months off, but this week's press day gave an exciting insight into what to look out for in july, and Auto Express was there.

1. Ferrari 375 MM Berlinatta

This ex-Hawthorn, Farina and Ascari 375 MM also came second in the 1954 Carrera Panamericana driven by Phil Hill and Richie Ginther.



 
2. Lamborghini Murcielago 670 Super Veloce

With a 6.5-litre V12 the Super Veloce is all about power. And with 660bhp and 660Nm of torque, the SV rockets from 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 212 mph.



 
3. Bugatti Type 59

The Type 59 was the last model Bugatti made in the 1930's and was arguably one o the most elegant pre-war Grand Prix cars. It had a fearsome 3.3-litre.



 
4. Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage

The Maserati Tipo 61 earned its 'Birdcage' nickname coutesy of the lattice-work of the tubes that made up its chassis. This car won the Hillclimb Championship in 1960.

5. Jaguar XJR14

The XJR14 used F1 technology to dominate the first year of the short-lived 3.5-litre Group C formula.



 
6. Caparo T1

The T1 is a British mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-seater built by Caparo Vehicle Technologies, a comapny founded by Ben Scott-Geddes and Graham Halstead, engineers formerly involved in the development of the McLaren F1.



 
7. Darren Turner

Awarded McLaren's Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year in 1996. Turner is a former test driver for the McLaren Formula One team, and currently tests cars for Aston Martin.



 
8. Lister Chevrolet 'Knobbly'

The Listers proved very successful on both sides of the Atlantic, and this variety's svelt bodywork led to them being nicknamed 'Knobbly'.

Designed as a road car, the McLaren F1 proved equally adept on the track, dominating GT racing and winning Le Mans at its first attempt.

Originally sold to Bill Bradley Racing who raced the car in 1000km races at Hockenheim, Monza, Silverstone and Brands Hatch between 1968 and 1969.
