The matt black Lexus LFA revealed on the Japanes show firm's stand at the 2010 New York Motor Show wasn't the only machine turning heads at this year's US spectacular.

The firm was also impressing with a very special IS concept car - which one source close to the firm suggested could hint at a V8 engine IS-F badged evolution of the coupe convertible IS-C.

Produced by tuning specialist Gordon Ting, the model is based on an IS250C, but is equipped with bespoke bodywork, unique alloy wheels and fitted with a bespoke interior.

Carbon recaro seats support the driver, while upgraded suspension and brake parts from  KW Suspension and Brembo respectively, improve the car's handling.

The engine remains unmodified, save for new exhausts so straight line speed remains in line with the standard model.

That means drivers get a six cylinder engine, connected to a six speed manual gearbox. With 207bhp, the 0-62mph sprint takes 9 seconds, while top speed is 130mph.
