Range Rover Evoque revealed LIVE

Evoque officially revealed in Paris. Watch the launch LIVE here.

Range Rover Evoque Paris

July 2010

The wait is finally over! This is the Range Rover Evoque, the production version of the LRX concept which debuted at the Detroit Motor Show in 2008.

Bearing a striking resemblance to the original LRX concept, the newcomer is the smallest and lightest Range Rover ever made. Design boss Gerry McGovern describes the car as “a modern and relevant execution of the familiar Range Rover design language.”

Land Rover has also confirmed that the new car will be named Evoque – a name that, according to Land Rover, “implies exclusivity and arouses emotions.”

The Evoque will also become the cleanest Land Rover when it goes on sale in the UK next summer. Available in both two and four-wheel-drive, the greenest version will emit less than 130g/km of CO2.

The car will be sold in over 160 countries worldwide. So getting the styling right is key to the car’s appeal, and crucial for Land Rover’s plans to make the Range Rover brand appeal to more people.

The Evoque will be built at the Halewood plant in Liverpool, where the Freelander is currently assembled. This will create 1,000 jobs in the Merseyside area.

best looking car LR have ever produced in my opinion!

I want one

This is a serously cool looking car. Sadly will no doubt be taken up by wealthy Chavs, Footballers and school run mum's but it is still cool and I want one. BMW, Mercedes even Ford should be worried; their Kuga has nothing on this! If the price is right they could be looking at being number one in the sales charts

I want one - Why is there not an edit button?

This is a SERIOUSLY cool looking car...

Nice car, but...

Who is it aimed at?
Land Rover are using Mrs Beckham to promote it. That for me is a good reason to steer well clear of it.
Seems to be aimed at WAGS. Which would explain the Range Rover badge on the front to make it a fashion accessory.
I agree this puts the Ford Kuga in the shade, but I'm sure it won't be anywhere near as cheap judging by the badge on the front...

Pure bling. Bound to be a great success. Shame that LR's current clientele don't even know the meaning of the word "vulgar".

WAGS

Who thought linking a car to England footballers was a good idea at the moment.......

It just dilutes the Range Rover brand, just like the X-Type did for Jaguar.

Copycat

Looks like an Infiniti to me...........nothing new here

Looks Nasty

What were they thinking? Have they staggered away wounded from the Tyota Amazon League and tried to get into smaller Kia and Hyundi League with this sheep in Wolfs clothing!
The crossover type design makes it look like a Nissan Squasthai!
Very dissapointing!

A Real Beauty

Great design and built in UK.
Just what we need to lead us out of these hard times.

This will be a runaway success!! Looks awesome, so similar to the concept too and I've not seen that since the original Audi TT. The name however is ridiculous, and has nothing in common with current RR/LR language.....Cadillac remember? Apart from that, a winner for sure!

RR Looks and Language

If this car had no badges and you studied it for a little while - you`d probably come up with the name Land Rover/Range Rover and I think most would agree on the words Gorgeous & Awesome and being British ( plus built in Britain ) is a bonus.

As for the name it could not have been better suited - looks like Vogue - but but bang up to date.

Jenny

Evoque is the whole new generation of drivers who want a large, stylish vehicle that delivers decent fuel economy, low emissions and lashings of style.
