Hyundai is crossing over into yet another niche! This is the first official sketch of the firm’s B-segment MPV, called the ix20.
The ix20 will be the second European car, following the ix35, to adopt Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language. With its flared wheel arches and chiselled surfaces its clear that the Kia Venga-based newcomer is designed to offer both a functional five-seat layout and a sporty driving experience.
Designed and developed at Hyundai’s European R&D centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany, the name ix20 is supposed to reflect the new model’s crossover-like versatility.
Another model making its world premiere at Paris is the new i10. This upgraded version of Hyundai’s popular city car benefits from a new 1.0-litre engine with CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km.
More news of Hyundai’s Paris star cars will be published on Thursday September 30th.
