Here’s a car its maker says Chinese drivers won’t want to miss…
Called the FAW Go (no pun intended), the four-door coupé is aimed at the likes of the Volkswagen Passat CC, and will be built by FAW China’s first ever car maker.
At almost 4.5 meters long, it’s not short on interior space and with combined fuel economy of up to 42mpg it’s reasonably efficient too – thanks in part to a super low kerb weight of 1,210kg.
FAW is set to build two versions of the car. The first, powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine will offer a top speed of 112mph, and a five-speed manual gearbox.
The second, a 1.4 litre turbo offers greater pace, with a top speed of 125mph and more luxury with a six speed automated manual.
FAW, which partners Volkswagen, Toyota and General Motors to built a wide range of cars, is one of the firms tipped to begin selling cars in Europe.
It's also tipped to be developing a China only electric car with VW, which will use the battery technology derived from VW's work on the electric Up! city car.
Meanwhile, the FAW Go is currently under development, and will go on sale in China later in 2012.
