Drivers see red in lights fiasco

Transport officials were left red-faced after new £450,000 traffic lights, brought in to replace a roundabout in Ilchester, Somerset, caused massive tailbacks. The lights have since been turned off.

A Highways Agency spokesman explained: “They have not been properly trialled yet.”
