The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) is using its appearance at the London International Motor Show at ExCel, 20th - 30th July 2006, to promote its online Find A Service facility.
The web-based search lets motorists find member garages near their postcode, knowing that RMIF's 8,000 member sites are committed to a "robust Code of Practice".
Matthew Carrington, RMIF Chief Executive said: "‘The Federation represents not only independent garages, but also franchised and commercial vehicle dealers, motorcycle dealers and rider training centres, body repairers, motor auctions, MOT test stations, cherished number plate dealers and petrol retailers. Put simply, as the largest trade body for the retail motor sector, we are uniquely placed to advise consumers: the RMIF is a gateway to quality services.’
As a safeguard for customers he added: "Using an RMIF member provides customers with the valuable reassurance of our mediation service - this facility will investigate any complaint made against a member, and will remain impartial throughout. In most cases it is successful in resolving disputes or disagreements fairly and amicably".
