Better economy and flexibility will be provided by sixth gear

French firm Citroen has stepped up a gear with the introduction of a new six-speed electronic transmission.

Offered on 1.6-litre HDi versions of the C4 hatchback, the ‘box can be operated using a steering wheel-mounted paddleshift system.
