Golden tickets in funding bid

Going for gold: revenue raising with a parking meter

A gold-painted parking meter has been put to novel use in Harrogate, N Yorks – raising money for a listed building.

Shoppers inserting a £1 coin get a ‘parking ticket’ showing the donation will be used to help restore the town’s historic Royal Hall.
