MINI car, maximum residual value! Trade bible Glass's Guide claims BMW-built hatch retains 66 per cent of original value after three years - making it slowest-depreciating car on market. "In valuation terms, the MINI's performance is remarkable," said Glass's spokesman.

Kit car maker Westfield has recycled written-off Mazda MX-5 - and turned it into one of its own models. Roadster's running gear reused and fitted with new bodywork to demonstrate firm's green capabilities. Spokesman said: "Why not turn one two-seater into another?"
