‘Flatpack’ Fiat assembles IKEA look at dealers

The cars don't come flat-packed, but the showroom furniture does! Fiat has signed up Scandinavian store chain IKEA to kit out its dealerships.

Buyers looking for a new model will soon be able to negotiate deals over easy-to-assemble desks and help themselvesto a car brochure from a cubby-hole storage shelf.

The Italian car maker says the tie-up reflects both companies' values of "simplifying people's lives with beautiful styling". Dealers in Italy will be first to get the IKEA makeover, with the UK following soon after.
