Both coupé and cabrio versions of 911 will get facelift, which includes new rear bumper
08th August 2006
Our spy photographers spotted this disguised model being put through its paces in Germany. At first glance, the coupé appears standard - but there are some important changes.
At the front, it looks as though the revised model will feature clever adaptive headlamps. The oval designs incorporate a twin-bulb set-up for improved night vision. There's also a fresh front bumper, which boasts three revised air vents as well as restyled front indicator lenses.
Redesigned light clusters can be seen at the back, and the units appear to be inspired by those fitted to the Carrera GT, with an LED-style lower section. The rear lamps also feature a sculpted lower edge - as opposed to the straight bottom of the current items - and have been combined with a reprofiled back bumper.
The current-shape 911 - known as the 997 - debuted in 2004, and the facelifted car is likely to be revealed officially next year.
