Take a look at this interior - does it seem familiar? No, you're not looking at the latest Range Rover, but Ford's new Expedition - a giant SUV from the US that appears to have taken a leaf out of the Solihull-based company's book.
With classy wood trim and metal accents around the circular air vents, plus high-quality, soft-touch plastics and leather-clad captain's armchairs, the new vehicle is a dead ringer inside for Land Rover's range-topping model. However, the Expedition is even bigger, with an 18 ft-long, nine-seater variant available.
Based on Ford's popular range of pick-up trucks, the model is said to be designed to appeal to buyers who take their lifestyle to the limit; more than 92 per cent of customers use their motors for outdoor holidays. Power for the massive machine comes courtesy of a 300bhp 5.4-litre V8, which returns little more than 15mpg.
