You can fit and forget the latest spark plug from Japanese specialist Denso as it is made to last for more than 60,000 miles.

On sale outside the trade for the first time, the Iridium Tough VK series plugs are £16 each – but you should have to fit only a couple of sets in the car’s lifetime.
