Police in South Wales have become the first to pull motorists over and give them a roadside eye test.
Drivers failing the on-the-spot 'visual MoT' - reading a registration plate 20 metres away - are warned they face arrest if they get back behind the wheel. Driving without corrective lenses carries a £1,000 fine and three penalty points.
