Within hours of its land speed victory with Dieselmax, JCB was quick off the mark in another project - declaring its interest in buying Jaguar.
JCB boss Sir Anthony Bamford claimed he would only be tempted if owner Ford split the Big Cat from Land Rover. The brands currently share many parts.
"If Jag can be separated, I'd like to buy it," said Bamford, adding that he had yet to make an approach.
