SEAT star James Thompson won’t be in BTCC action at Knockhill, Fife, this weekend – as he will be defending his slender three-point World Touring Car Championship lead in the Czech Republic.

Fellow Brit Andy Priaulx is second overall after picking up only two points last time out in Brazil. Priaulx (image) won 2005’s WTCC crown at the final race in Macau, and believes this year’s title will again go down to the wire.
