Aston Martin has been put up for sale by Ford. Although after years of losses, the company has turned the corner and started making small profits, Ford has a cash crisis in the US and is under enormous pressure to raise revenue.
The move is designed to release £600million for the blue oval, freeing up capital to ease its financial problems. The US giant bought the classic British marque in 1994, and since then, the DB9, Vantage and Vanquish have been launched.
