Rogue truckers pay price

Road wear created by overloaded lorries

Government agency Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) says one axle on a lorry overloaded by a tonne causes the same road wear as 18,000 Ford Mondeos.

Now, offending trucks are being spotted by number plate recognition cameras and weight sensor strips.
