It's going to be a vintage year for the 110th London to Brighton run. A bumper entry of 489 pre-1905 cars will line up in the capital on 5 November for the 60-mile trip to the south coast.
First run in 1896, the event celebrated the fact motorists no longer had to drive behind a pedestrian with a red flag, and also marked a speed limit rise to 14mph. Then, 33 drivers started the race, but only 14 finished.
