As well as hi-tech engine management system, Legacy gets revised nose
02nd October 2006
The flagship 245bhp 3.0-litre flat-six unit offers different power modes for drivers to select on the move. Hit the dash-mounted buttons and the engine will shift between 'Intelligent', 'Sport' or 'Sport Sharp' - economy, normal and sport settings.
On the outside, both the saloon and estate benefit from major revisions, including a new grille and bumpers, plus powerful high-intensity HID headlights. Inside, there are better-quality plastics, dual-zone climate control and electric front seats, while 3.0-litre auto cars get steering wheel paddleshifters. All models are 4WD, and prices start at £17,495 for the 2.0R four-door.
Meanwhile, Subaru has revealed a new 1.5-litre entry-level Impreza. At £12,495, the Sports Wagon features 4WD, air-con and alloy wheels.
