CCs are a soft target

Coupe-cabriolets might feel more secure than soft-top alternatives, but insurance companies don't agree

Models such as the new Ford Focus CC, Nissan Micra C+C and Volvo C60 may as well have canvas roofs, as far as premiums are concerned.

Vehicle security firm Thatcham says owners won't be treated any differently from rag-top drivers. "They are still classed as cabrios, as they can be left with the top down when parked," explained a spokesman.
