OA nationwide police crackdown has revealed how many uninsured and unsafe cars there are on Britain's roads. Nearly 6,000 vehicles were stopped by 51 forces in a one-day operation.
fficers found one in 25 cars had no MoT, one in 50 motorists was uninsured and one of every 60 drivers didn't have a licence. Mean-while Greater Manchester police caught nearly 1,000 drivers using hand-held mobiles in a three-week blitz.
