The car shown here, caught filming for a promotional video, is the sporty range-topper and is fitted with a rear bumper air diffuser just like the Focus ST. A small lip spoiler also sets the flagship apart from lesser models, as do Ford’s trademark five-spoke alloy wheels.
Twin exhaust pipes are another hint about what might be under the bonnet. Ford has confirmed that the Mondeo will be available with the five-cylinder petrol powerplant shared with Volvo, but it’s thought that the ST will come with a hi-tech in-line six-cylinder unit. Four-wheel drive is another possibility.
