Who said being 30-something was boring? This couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to Volvo's new C30 T5 -one of the fastest cars the Swedish firm has ever produced.

Powered by the same engine as is found in Ford's Focus ST, the T5 develops 220bhp and hits 0-62mph in around six seconds. Priced from £21,495 to £22,995, this performance version of the new hatch is aiming to take on VW's Golf GTI and Audi's A3. The super-Swede doesn't go on sale until January, but Volvo says it's already had more pre-orders than for the highly popular XC90.
Meanwhile, the car maker is also considering bringing an environmentally friendly Flexi-fuel version of the C30 to the UK.
