The Stilo replacement will share its underpinnings with the forthcoming Lancia Delta, and is expected to hit showrooms next year.

The firm's designers have clearly been influenced by the big-selling Grande Punto, so the new Bravo boasts similarly sleek headlamps and a narrow, protruding grille.

Buyers are likely to get the option of four-wheel drive, too, because the hatchback will share technology with a planned Fiat compact crossover model. Expect high-quality interior trim and a wide selection of options, while the engine range will include a 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit and a new 1.6 diesel.
