VW giveaway strikes a chord

Here's a deal with strings attached! Volkswagen is giving anyone who signs up for a new Jetta, Beetle or Golf by the end of the year a free electric guitar - and it can be played via the car's stereo.

But before you reach for your cheque book and plectrum, the offer is currently only running in the US. Each instrument is colour-coded to the model and carries the chassis number. The guitars are made by First Act, which supplies bands such as Franz Ferdinand and Aerosmith.
