Models such as Caliber claimed to be behind Chrysler Group success in UK
24th October 2006
In the UK market alone, the American organisation - which incorporates the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands - recorded a 34 per cent increase in the first nine months of the year. Nearly 16,000 Chryslers, Dodges and Jeeps have found homes in Britain during that period. A large part of this success in showrooms is being attributed to the introduction here of a number of new cars, including Dodge's SUV-styled Ford Focus competitor, the Caliber, and Chrysler's chunky 300C executive saloon.
"We've launched several all-new models this year, and seven more are due to arrive in the UK in 2007, so this growth in sales looks set to continue," said a spokeswoman.
And Chrysler isn't the only manufacturer celebrating. Last month saw several big-hitters, including Fiat, Lexus and BMW, all putting in strong performances. The Bavarian giant sold more than a million cars worldwide between January and September this year.
A spokesman told us: "This international success is down to our quality and diverse vehicle range."
