Trucks' mirror move

Large lorries will have to be kitted out with new mirrors

Lorries will be made to fit blind spot mirrors in a European Com­mission bid to cut road casualties.

Any vehicle weighing more than 3.5 tonnes will have to install new mirrors so drivers can see other traffic more clearly. From next year, new trucks have to use advanced mirrors - this move extends the law to lorries already on the road.
