Mazda announces future model strategy

The six-speed Mazda CX-7 SUV will get a 260bhp 2.3-litre petrol engine at launch next year, with a diesel - possibly from the next 6 - to follow.

Bosses have also told Auto Express the next cars likely to get the sporty MPS makeĀ­over are the new 2 hatch and 5 MPV. While there are no concrete plans at preĀ­sent, officials in Japan say these models are most suited to the racy treatment.
