Blue badge blitz

New traffic warden authority could stop blue badge fraud

Traffic wardens now have the power to spot-check and fine blue badge holders if they suspect theft or fraud.

It's part of a Government crackdown on abuse of the disabled parking permits, which are prime targets for car criminals. Badges can fetch up to £1,000 each on the black market.
