Cops face up to crime

High-tech police software can prove who was driving to avoid disputes

Police are using face recognition software to prove drivers' identities and prevent disputes over who committed motoring offences.

The system has already been employed successfully by officers in the Thames Valley. It has been made possible by the DVLA's move to digital photocard licences.
