GERMANY: Van man Herbert Meyer veered off a Bavarian road and crashed after being overcome by fumes from some strong cheese he was delivering.

USA: A driver clocked at 50mph in a 30mph zone told police in Cooperville, Kansas, that he had just washed his Ford and was drying it off.

AUSTRALIA: Florist Helen Taylor held a first birthday party, complete with cake and candles, for a hole dug by gasmen in the road outside her Sydney shop. "I think they have forgotten about it," she said.
