Car makers are lining up to try new brakes that could signal the end of hydraulics. The ElecĀtronic Wedge Brake turns pedal pressure into an electric current to control two small motors behind each wheel.
These make a wedge to push the brake pad against the rim. German inventor Siemens claims the system gives drivers more control.
