24th December 2006
Similar in concept to the firm's popular One Seven, Cooper Park Lane and Cooper S Checkmate models which were launched in 2005, the Sidewalk package for the first-generation MINI Convertible goes on sale in April.
Options include racks for surfboards, snowboards and bikes, as well as John Cooper Works performance and styling kit
Available across the range, the pack comes with a choice of four body colours, 17-inch alloy wheels, clear indicators and special badging on the wings.
Inside, there's Malt Brown leather upholstery, a two-tone multifunction steering wheel, sports seats, extra chrome trim and unique floor mats, badges and door inserts.
Stability and traction control, an on-board computer and air-conditioning also come as standard. Options include racks for surfboards, snowboards and bikes, as well as John Cooper Works performance and styling kits.
The little car gets its official unveiling at January's Detroit Motor Show, and will be available alongside the second-generation MINI hatch. The all-new MINI Convertible, spied in Issue 940, arrives in 2008. Prices start at £16,910 for the One Sidewalk, while Cooper and Cooper S versions cost £17,960 and £20,235 respectively.
