Toyota's Corolla replacement, the Auris, has been awarded five stars for adult occupant safety in Euro NCAP's latest crash test results.
The Euro NCAP results show that the Toyota Auris scored 35 points for passenger protection (maximum: 37 points), 37 points for child protection (max: 48 points) and 21 points for pedestrian protection (max. 27). With this result, the Toyota Auris qualifies amongst the safest vehicles in its segment.
The new Toyota Auris is on sale in the UK from 1 February, 2007.
Meanwhile, Skoda's Roomster supermini-MPV also received top marks, while the Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Magentis saloon both claimed four stars. The Auris was given three stars for pedestrian protection, the Skoda two, Kia one and Hyundai zero.
