Winter has set in, and Peugeot is already making good use of the snow in Scandinavia to start cold weather testing of its new baby estate.
Auto Express's spies were on hand to bring you the moment the disguised load-lugger left its first tracks in the snow. We can also reveal how the new 207 SW will look when it appears in UK showrooms in July.
As you can see, Peugeot has carried over many of the styling features of its larger 407 SW sister. The 207's neat shape gets the French firm's trademark upswept pillar through the rear windows and smart flat-sided wheelarches.
Inside, the supermini estate will offer all the practicality that a small family needs. The model is expected to come with neat flat-folding rear seats and a generous amount of luggage space. Engines will be shared with the 207 hatchback, but performance fans will be disappointed, as Peugeot's hottest powerplants won't feature.
That means the turbocharged version of the new 1.6-litre unit co-developed with BMW won't be available, but buyers will get the option of the naturally aspirated 1.6 which will join the hatchback range in February. Scheduled to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the SW will complete the 207 family, which also comprises three and five-door hatchbacks, plus the coupé cabrio CC revealed in Issue 940.
Prices for the new SW are yet to be announced, but the estate is likely to be available from around £10,500.
