Back in Issue 900, Auto Express tested an early Evo X prototype fitted with only half of the S-AWC package, an upgraded AYC and active braking control.
Even then, we were impressed by the stronger AYC and independent four-wheel stopping system. The rear was more composed when cornering, tucking in nicely following the line of the front wheels, while less steering input was required.
Better still, the latter remained as natural and progressive as on the Evo IX, and track-day fans will be pleased to hear that the hi-tech systems still allowed some slides.
