Avenger muscles in to take on Mondeo

Dodge displayed its production-ready Avenger family model for the first time in Detroit

The Mondeo rival is virtually unchanged from its Paris show debut in September.

The Avenger shares its platform with Chrysler's Sebring saloon, but will offer a sportier set-up when it goes on sale in the summer. Features include MyGIG, an in-car entertainment and sat-nav system. Prices start at around £16,000.
