Exclusive spy images in this week's mag reaveal BMW's new M3 Convertible. Due on sale early in 2008, it's a drop-top version of the forthcoming M3 Coupé, and has a muscular look and searing pace from a 400bhp 4.0-litre V8.
The roof is divided into three sections. That's because the open-air M3 gets the same folding metal hood as the recently revealed 3-Series Convertible.
Not only does the newcomer feature a more coupé-like shape, but as the top is made from lightweight steel, it will also be a significant improvement over the previous canvas-roofed model, with greater refinement, security and rigidity.
A 0-60mph sprint time of less than five seconds is expected, with the top speed limited to 155mph. Six-ratio manual and SMG semi-automatic transmissions will be available, with a twin-clutch VW DSG-style sequential box likely to arrive later. The M3 Convertible will be priced at around £42,000.
