Posh pick-up revealed

A top engineering firm believes it has spotted a new gap in the market - and here's what it has created to fill it

The LUV (Luxury Utility Vehicle) is due for launch at March's Geneva Motor Show by German outfit EDAG. It blends a plush cabin and pick-up practicality with the craftsmanship of a hand-built yacht - there's even an oiled teak bonnet covering. Wood stretches across the floor and into the load bay, while retractable clamps for securing luggage complete the nautical theme.

EDAG claims the LUV is production ready, and just needs the backing of a major manufacturer to bring it to showrooms.
