At the front, the biggest differences are the adaptive headlights, which feature two main bulbs instead of one, and swivel in the direction of the steered wheels. These new units are likely to be made standard across the range.
Designers have also reshaped the indicators and the front spoiler, while at the rear, the tail-lamps have also been restyled with new LED lights. Inside, there are minor changes to cabin materials focusing on improving quality.
While industry cost-cutting has led to many car makers introducing revised models without any mechanical changes, buyers can expect the 911 to get a thorough re-working. So as well as tweaked suspension and steering - designed to further improve driver involvement - there will also be modest power hikes. The new car will debut at September's Frankfurt Motor Show.
