As with the first-generation model, Lotus Engineering has helped with the newcomer's development. The Norfolk firm, which is owned by Proton, has adjusted the suspension for a sporty driving experience and tweaked the 1.6-litre petrol engine.
"The original Satria was launched in 2001, and over the years the GTi version developed a cult following in the UK," said Simon Park, Proton's General Sales and Marketing Manager.
Kicking off with a 1.3-litre engine, the Satria Neo line-up will start at £8,000, rising to £10,000 for the 1.6. It goes on sale at the end of this month.
