Mini X-Bow

Mini X-Bow on target

It might appear to be ready to race, but this orange stunner is actually a half-size model

20th February 2007

Called the X-Bow (pronounced crossbow), it has been created by Austrian motorcycle firm KTM for wind tunnel testing. And it corresponds in every detail with the final full-size car, which will be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

A 220bhp 2.0-litre engine from the Audi TT will power the X-Bow, and KTM claims it will be capable of 0-62mph in less than four seconds. Only 100 cars will be built initially, although the long-term plan is to make 500 of the £26,000 machines a year.
